Lynn Baxter Birth Prep - Antenatal Classes and Hypnosis for Childbirth
Biography

Lynn Baxter

Lynn was born and educated in London. She admits that for five years she was the world's worst secretary and then decided to follow her heart and become a nurse. She undertook her student nurse training in the QAs (Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps), serving in Aldershot, Munster and Rinteln, Germany, where she met and married her husband.

A year after they returned to the UK, her husband left the Army and they settled in Norwich where she trained as a Midwife, subsequently spending many happy years practising Midwifery. Although she worked in all departments, most of her career was spent as a Delivery Suite Sister, delivering many hundreds of babies herself and caring for thousands of more women in labour. This experience gives her a unique position among antenatal class teachers, in that she has an extensive ‘hands-on’ knowledge of labour.

During her continued Midwifery education, she undertook a module in Pain Control and Management where she read about the marvels of Hypnosis; this lead her to retrain as a Hypnotherapist when she left the NHS.

She studied at the prestigious London College of Clinical Hypnosis, and returned there to undertake further study of hypnosis at post-graduate level. Her continuing professional development has taken place both at LCCH and at other training bodies.

She acted as a practice supervisor on the Diploma Course at LCCH.

She is a founder member of EQV, a group of local business women who seek to run their enterprises on ethical principles.

She has a Clinical Hypnotherapy practice in South Norfolk and specialises in hypnosis for childbirth. She finds immense satisfaction in being able to provide women and their partners with sound, experienced based, information about pregnancy and childbirth and also in teaching them techniques that  maximise the opportunity to have a satisfying birth experience.
