Lynn Baxter is a Midwife with many years experience as a Delivery Suite Sister, being present during literally thousands of labours, giving her a unique position among antenatal class teachers, in that she has an extensive ‘hands-on’ knowledge of labour.
During her time in the Delivery Suite, she encountered many women who were inadequately prepared for labour, either by having been given insufficient information, or by being given unrealistic expectations of labour.
She then worked for some years as a Community Midwife, and developed a course of antenatal classes, that she felt really met the needs of women; many of her patients subsequently told her how well prepared for labour they had been.
Lynn’s aim in running Antenatal Classes is that women experience childbirth with a thorough understanding of what is happening to their bodies and events that occur during labour, thereby removing their anxiety.
When she left the NHS, she studied at the prestigious London College of Hypnosis, undertaking extra training in the use of research based hypnosis for childbirth.
Lynn now has a Clinical Hypnotherapy practice in South Norfolk, where she specialises in Hypnosis for Childbirth.
She has the City and Guilds Part 1 Certificate in teaching adults.
She is a founder member of EQV, a small group of local business women who identify ethical principles as the basis on which their businesses are built. |
